Frequently Asked Questions

What type of video can I upload?

A video… of ping-pong (you’d be surprised).

From a technical standpoint, ensure that the video does not exceed 3 gigabytes. It should have been recorded with at least 30 frames per second (30 fps) and in HD resolution (720p) or Full HD (1080p). Most smartphones, cameras, and camcorders produce videos that meet these criteria by default.

The video quality and capture conditions should be sufficient for the game to be clearly visible. To properly capture your game, follow our guide.

From a legal standpoint, you must own the rights to the video, or it must be royalty-free. You must obtain consent from the individuals appearing in the video - or from their legal guardian - before transmitting it to us. For more information, refer to our terms of service.

How much does Ping Hero cost?

Ping Hero is free as long as you transmit one hour or less of videos per month.

To transmit more, you have the option to subscribe to a plan or purchase a refill. The subscription includes additional benefits.

What turnaround time should I expect?

Transmitting a video takes between a few seconds and a few minutes, depending on its size and the quality of your internet connection. A confirmation message will appear once the video is transmitted.

Our video analysis technology is still young. That’s why, at the moment, we review each video manually. We strive to process each video within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience! When your video is ready, you will be notified by email.

Once the video is ready, statistics and compilation creation are instantaneous.

Why are you not on the App Store or Google Play?

Ping Hero is a web app: the service is accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer using an internet browser such as Chrome or Safari.

Ping Hero is still young. We plan to be available on major stores in the future. Spread the word about Ping Hero and it might happen sooner than expected ;).

Can I retrieve condensed videos and compilations?

The “condensed” videos, i.e., stripped of the downtime between exchanges, are available at any time in your video library. We store them for 3 months if you are a Premium subscriber and 1 month otherwise. Compilations are not saved as such, but you can recreate them as you like.

To easily find a video or remember an interesting compilation, feel free to use tags. You can also add memorable points to your favorite compilation by clicking the star while the video is playing.

To share a video or compilation with your friends, use the dedicated button to send them a link.

You can also download a video or a compilation if you are a premium subscriber.

How can I download a video or a compilation?

Video downloading is a premium feature. You need to subscribe to a plan first to enable it. If you already have a premium subscription, you can download any video or compilation by clicking the “Download” button at the bottom of the page with the selected video.

How can I upload a video that seems too big?

You cannot send any video bigger than 3 Gb. There are several solutions to reduce the size of a video:

  • Compress the video using a dedicated tool. However, do not go below HD resolution (720p).
  • Trim the video by deleting any unimportant part at the beginning and at the end.
  • Cut the video in half, for example at the end of a set.
